Acne

Acne can be caused by many things; bad diet, stress, hormone imbalance, very oily skin or by a dirty working environment. Adolescents are more likely to suffer from acne, but there is no real age limit for the condition.

Acne can affect the back and shoulders as well as the face. The condition is easily recognised by the appearance of spots, which are often pustulus or red and inflamed. Blackheads may also be present due to the excess sebum which blocks pores.

Treatments

Azufre cleaner, lotion or cream.
Herbal Clay Mask (may be mixed with Azufre lotion instead of water)
Tea tree essential oil (for bath)
Lavender essential oil (for bath)


Eczema

Eczema is a very dry itching skin condition which in some cases can be weeping or bleeding.

It is often an inherited condition frequently linked to asthma and hayfever. Certain foods can also trigger Eczema e.g. dairy or gluton, or contact with irritants shuch as strong soaps, perfumes, detergents etc.

Treatments

Cleanse - Facial wash creams, Camilla's cleansing cream, Lanolin soap.
Tone - Rose Water.
Moisturise - Azufre cream, Skin food.
Bath - Herbal bath oil, Chamomile essential oil, Lavender or Geranium essential oil.
Hair - Herbal Shampoo.


Psoriasis

Psoriasis is distinguished from eczema by the flaky patches of skin, with red-raw skin underneath. The scalp is often affected also the arms and legs. In severe cases of Psoriasis the whole body may be affected.

Like eczema, the causes are not fully understood. It may be caused by shock to the person (accident or bereavement) or hereditary. many causes seem to be stress related.

Treatments

Cleanse - Facial wash creams, Camilla's cleansing cream, Lanolin soap.
Tone - Rose Water.
Moisturise - Azufre cream, Skin food.
Hair - Herbal Shampoo.


Dandruff

Dandruff is seen as dry flakes of skin falling from the scalp, the causes are many including; dry scalp, stress, poor diet, fungal infection or irritants.

Treatments

Ti-Tree and Thyme shampoo, or Herbal shampoo


Animal Testing Policy

Camilla Hepper has a fixed and cut off date. This means we refuse to use any ingredients tested on animals after this date, which is 1986. You can be assured that we will only use ingredients known to be safe before this date.

We do not encourage current or future animal testing.

We do not buy any ingredients resulting from such tests.

NatureWatch fully endorse the 'fixed cut off date' policy as being in their opinion, the most effective way to bring animal experiments to an end.
